Post Chat server setup (how)

Hi all

i am having app 1200 win9x clients in my organisation. I wants to set up a chat server on linux(not point to point).And i don't know the abc of the chat server. can anybody help me in this.

What kind of chat are you wanting to setup.. like a IRC type chat or Java based chat... maybe even a chat thru an online page... ?? That could be kind of tedious to explain in a forum like this. Have you tried searching for any online tutorials at all ??

Dear sir

first of all thanks for reply. Actually i don't know much about the chat server.Earliar i tried to impliment jabber but i could not succeed .I wants to impliment IRC Chat server which my win9x clients would be using within the organisation.

Here is a link to a webpage enabled irc chat program. You dont host the server, they do, and its free. You just have to create a web page and insert a few lines of html. The one I'm talking about is called backpack.
