Changing my Mac address
 
Hi

At work at the moment my pc's mac address is set up to a fixed ip and my ip is not allowed to do everything like bypass the internet logs. Does anyone know where i could find my mac address on the server? So i can changed i would think its the dns but some guy at work says its not in there and has challenge me find it and change it?

The server is running Red Hat Enterprize 3

try this.

Try running this on the interface in question:

ifconfig eth0 hw ether 00:11:22:33:44:55

Obviously replace eth0 with your interface's name, and 00:11:22:33:44:55 with the MAC address you want it to have. You have to do this every time you reboot [or remove and reinsert the driver, if it uses a module].
