changing my hostname in suse 9.3
I have SUSE 9.3 installed on my laptop. When I am hooked into the network at work, DHCP assigns a hostname to my computer. When not hooked-in, the hostname is "linux" which is apparently the default of Suse 9.3. This causes problems with some software licenses I have. Question is, how do I change my hostname (at boot time) , when not hooked into the network? Suse apparently doesn't use standard files such as /etc/hostname.
thanks. |
See the
Code:
man hostname Also, if you do not want your hostname to change when you get an IP (as a dhcp client), you can disable that in YaST as well. |
