I came across a slackware linux, how do i change the ip address on this please?. on eth0, eth1.Thanks

Distribution: RedHat, 'drake, suse, slack, gentoo, beehive, lfs...

ifconfig eth0 ip.address.of.nic up

There are lots of other things you can specify, check 'man ifconfig' for details, but that's usually enough to get the cards up.

Keep in mind this only lasts until you reboot, so you might consider putting the command in your startup scripts somewhere, unless the change is only temporary.
