Changing default gateway


netstat -rn

Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags MSS Window irtt Iface
10.58.58.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 eth1
192.168.8.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 eth0
169.254.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.0.0 U 0 0 0 eth1
127.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 U 0 0 0 lo

How do I change the default gateway for 192.168.8.0 from 0.0.0.0 to 192.168.8.1 ?

Why don't you have a default route? That's a bit odd... any way

# route add -net 192.168.8.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 gw 192.168.8.1
