change samba domain password

I have a linux client mounting samba network shares from a Windows server. The administrator has implemented required password changes on a regular basis.

How do I change / update the domain password from linux?

You could ssh or telnet the windows server and change the password with "net user username newpassword"
But you have to login (ssh or telnet) as administrator to change password at command prompt
