change group of ftp uploaded files

Hello.

This may be a simple option in vsftpd.conf that I just don't know about.

I have an anonymous FTP write-only folder up and running in our network.

Users upload files to /var/ftp/upload
The files uploaded become owned by a local user account. We'll call this user 'localGuy' for this post's purposes. So an example of a folder in /var/ftp/upload might be:
Code:
drwxrwx--- 2 localGuy ftp 4.0K 2008-07-21 15:39 someFolder/

Is there a way to also change the group ownership?

I would like the permissions to be like this:
Code:
drwxrwx--- 2 localGuy localGuy 4.0K 2008-07-21 15:39 someFolder/
Is this possible?

Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes that would work if the person uploading was on a *nix based computer but not if they were on a Windows box.

Is there a way to change the group ownership after the upload has occurred using vsftp?

Thanks

The remote server doesn't make file permissions decision based on the client OS type. This makes no sense.
