CentOS 7, enable NetworkManager.service has errors

Hello,

When I run the command
"systemctl enable NetworkManager.service"
it takes about 10 secs and finally replies
"Failed to issue method call: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: ... "

If I run "journalctl -xn" I get the following error "gnome-session[25909]: dconf-CRITICAL: unable to create file /run/user/0/dconf/user: Permission denied dconf will not work properly.

I'm at a loss to figure out what the problem is. When I google this all I see are Bug reports that are unsolved.

I am running CentOS 7 and I am logged in as root.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Instead of talking about something why not
0) post complete output of 'systemctl status NetworkManager.service; journalctl -xn;' and
1) adhere to security best practices by not running desktop stuff as root?..
