CentOS 5.2: Only one of eth0 (internet) or eth1 (LAN) works

Hello,
I am trying to setup a server with two networks, internet access through eth0 and LAN through eth1. The problem is that only one of them works at a given time.

I tried to specify route through the Network GUI for the corresponding device but it says 'file already exists' in case both devices are simultaneously have route set. I am confused over this and I have been using the same IP and subnet masks that I have been using prior to the installation of CentOS (on SuSE).

Can someone advice me on getting both eth0 and eth1 working simultaneously please?

Thanking in advance,
-S

Its really hard to troubleshoot routing issues without route, or contents of ifcfg-eth0 and 1.

Can you please supply the following information:

- printout of route
- contents of /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
- contents of /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1
- IP/subnet mask of eth0 and eth1
- gateway/router interface IPs

Thanks.

Thanks kenoshi,
Yes, I should have done it. Was experimenting and lost connection with the system altogether. Will post it in an hour.
Thanks,
