card speed as access point

hi, I´m trying to set up an access point using a wireless usb which is supposed to reach 108 mbps.
I´m not that optimistic but which is the speed I can
expect to get in that case supposing all the cards are
able to reach such a speed. (right now I only get 11 mbps)
thanks

108 mbps is the teorectical top speed for 802.11g type wireless cards as long as both card and access point are 802.11g complient then 108mbps is possible.

Mostly it depends on the signal strength that you receive between the access point and the computer. The farther you are away and the type of objects in between (walls, buildings, etc) will affect the overall strength and therefore affect the final connection speed.

I´m afraid my fist question wasn´t clear enough. What it´s supposed to be an access point really is a card working in master mode would
in that case keep at 108 in the best conditions?
