LinuxQuestions.org - Cant print using samba and cups to a windows printer

Hi.

I have tried to follow numerous how-to's on the net, but no matter what I do, I just can't print.

My printer is a HP-PSC750xi, connected to a windows XP. My laptop uses Debian linux, and samba.

Samba works flawlessly with XP, and vica versa. I've got cups installed.

In cups webinterface, I add a new printer. Call it allinone. Next I choose windows printer via samba. Device uri: smb://MASTER/PSC750. Next I choose HP, and the appropriate PPD got from linuxprinting.

At the administrations page it says:

Description:
Location:
Printer State: idle, accepting jobs.
Device URI: smb://MASTER/HPPSC750

Then i try to print a testpage, and now it reads:

"Unable to connect to SAMBA host, will retry in 60 seconds..."

I tail cups error log: (quite long)

I guess it something about the windows computer, but got no idea. The windows xp uses administrator as its account, and the printer is shared. I can print using another windows computer, but not using linux and samba. Is there something I shuld do on the windows computer, in the samba smb.conf, a cups config file or something else..
