cant login with gaim to MSN
 
i heard that msn wouldnt let any other messenger clients, other than trillian, i think, to logon to msn messenger. is there any other program that might be able to logon to msn?

You could use AMSN http://amsn.sourceforge.net it works perfectly.

oh yeh forgot about this, but i dont know how to install tar.gz files...

Installation

Download amsn-0_xx.tar.gz

$ tar xvzf amsn-0_xx.tar.gz

$ cd msn

$ ./amsn

The later version of Gaim should also work.

so did you have to download those dependencies to get the latest version to install?

since mandrake does support rpms, check here:
