Can't find what's wrong; card, config...?
Anyone know if being able to ping yourself and your loopback-IP means that your ethernet card is supported, functioning and properly configured? I can't ping anyone else, though.

---if not supported : How do I add support for a chipset? (SiS962)
---if not functioning: But it works under XP?
---if not configured: I am using straight-out-of-the-box Mandrake 9.0. I used their netconf and I made it the same as I have done on my XP boxes. Grr.

1. check 'link' LED on the card - if it is lightening you have physical connection, so next -
2. check gateway address setup in your box, if ok -
3. check firewall if it doesn't stops icmp packets, if ok -
ping (with IP not name) should work.
