Angry cant copy to shared directory on mandriva network

i have 3 machines - laptop (M2006) Server(M2006) MP3box(M2005)

all are on the LAN and can see through smb4k. With shared resource availiable.
If on laptop - can copy FROM any other resource to the laptop but cannot put files TO any other share.

Want to copy from the machine I am on to eg. - the server shared home directory ( obviously for backup as it IS THE SERVER.)

This problem is standard thoughout the lan.

NOTE : It all works fine except cant copy to another machine/share on the lan.

Please help with permissions/fixes.

- Have chmod 777 -R share directoried with no avail. What am I missing.

Plain terms please - am new but getting better... fast.

P.S. love the new Mandriva 2006. Hope they dont make it too easy from here. All this stuff is great.
Linux convert 2005- Windows gone.

Using Samba between Linux boxes is like climbing the fence and ignoring the wide open gate. NFS is the natural way for mounting network shares in *NIX world. (Which does not mean you cannot share the same NFS directory with Samba for Windows boxes.)
