Cant connect to Yahoo DSL with linux

Hi, Linux Newbie here. I am having problems using my DSL connection with Suse 9.0 I have tried many things including downloading the rp-pppoe from roaring penquin. I have placed the tar archive in the /usr/local/src directory and have untared it. It places a folder and when i go into the directory and run the shell I enter ./go. It tries to install it but then it has a ./configure error and cant compile it or install it. anyone????

It says the following:
linux:/usr/local/src/rp-pppoe-3.5 # ./go
Running ./configure...
loading cache ./config.cache
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
configure : error : no acceptable cc found in $path
oops! It looks like ./configure failed.

You need to install Gcc or some other C compiler.

i'm assuming you are running the dreaded personal edition of suse. Its a pain to install a c compiler into suse personal, i've tried and never suceeded myself. I suggest you download suse pro 9.1 via ftp. otherwise you can install the 9.0 personal packages for c, c++ from www.suse.com.

Ok. I have installed the GCC compiler and everything seemed to work fine the installation went great and I entered or at least I think i entered all information Correct. Thanks to Cinco5 for the info. As for distro I have Suse Linux professional 9.0..Back to the rp-pppoe It installed fine and I entered all information required..but When I entered adsl-start It timed out and gave me this:
/usr/sbin/adsl-start:line 191:7883 $CONNECT "$@">/dev/null 2>&1
I mean I think I did everthing correct but still cant seem to connect. If anyone knows what else I can do Please..anyone??
