Cannot SSH into a Ubuntu 10.04LTS Wirelessly from another Ubuntu 10.04 Machine
I am having a problem logging into (SSH) or even pinging a computer running Ubuntu 10.04LTS from another system running 10.04. I can SSH into the computer when they are hard wired (Ethernet). I also can use the wireless connection and talk to two separate 10.04 computers no problem. The only problem I see is that through the wireless connection (Two FreeWave Modems) will not SSH into the LTS version. Is there a setting to enable this? I am new to Linux so please be gentle.

Welcome to LinuxQuestions.
What is the model number(s) of the MODEMS? Not sure if it is a MODEM or computer problem but can you ssh from from the LTS to the the others using the MODEMs?

The modems are FreeWave HTP-900-RE. I can use them to go from one Linux laptop to another. But I cannot use it to go into the minimal installed Ubuntu computer on a robot. I did switch the Gateway and Endpoint modems today and I could ping into the robots computer, but with 50% packet loss. It still will not let me ssh into the robots computer though.

The problem isn't obvious since you can use the MODEMS with two other computers but not the robot. I assume you matched the network configuration on robot with that of your test setup. Do the MODEM lights indicate a good link? Have you check the robots input power to the MODEM is good?

Guess it's possible that ports are being blocked. Could be some packet size not allowing encrypted packet size, I'd think that odd.
