Cannot send email?
 

Hi all

I have 64bit OpenSuse 10.1.

Using either Evolution or kmail, i get an error when sending mail via smtp :"unrecognised transport protocol, sending of mail failed". I have tried all the combo's of ssl tsl etc etc. The mail server requires tsl.

The same settings extaxtly do work via the 'other' OS on the same machine via the same gateway and router/firewall.

I recieve mail with no issue.

Please assist.

You might have sorted this already but i had exactly the same problem. To sort it i had to add my smtp server to the special transport box in the advanced tab of my default identity: settings > configure kmail > manage identities > modify > advanced > (select from drop down box at bottom and tick box). Sorted!!
