Cannot see in MS Windows Linux box


Hi All,
I can ping from linux and from MS Windows 2K each other,
can share even internet between,
but on Win2K when browsing the network cannot see any linux
machine. Do I need something extra for this?

Do you have samba running? http://www.samba.org

No, Haven't. But do I need samba only to see computer at network neighborhood? I'm not talking about accesing linux
from windows. for now at least

Yea, you will still need Samba to see the Linux box in Network Places on Windows.

Take a peek at the O'reilly Samba book online. It will give you the basics.
