Cannot find configuration options in network manager

I'm running a Dell mini 9 with ubuntu.

I need to change the network settings for the following characteristics but when I click on the network in my network manager, none of the options show up.

Security: WEP Dynamique (802.1x) ***this option does not appear in the dropdown
Authentification : TLS ***this option does not appear in the dropdown
identity: username
User Certificate utilisateur: file username.pem
CA Certificate: CERAM.cer
Private key: username-cle.pem
Password key: new password I have chosen

I hope the translations are correct, because the original instructions are in French. From "identity" downwards I don't see any of those options appear at all in the window.

Any ideas? =(

PS newbie here, please explain in detail

Not sure if I can help directly, but I will say that Network Manager is a complete pos. I've never had any luck in getting it to do anything I need it to (last time I checked it wouldn't even do static IPs - yeuch!). Try out wicd instead. It's much better.

Hope I've helped.

wicd is a wired and wireless network manager for linux. You can find it on sourceforge at
