Cannot disconnect modem from rh-config-network

Hi,

Using redhat-config-network if I click "Activate" my modem dials up and connect fine, but the "De-activate" button is always grayed out, so to disconnect I have to su and the kill the pppd process directly.

Anybody know how to fix this?

Thanks,

mark

My best guess is it's a permission problem, I've been finding that anytime I can do somesthing as root and not as a user it has to do with permissions. I use cable and havn't used a modem in awhile so I'm not sure which permission you should change ,,,Sorry

Not sure if this is relevant, output from ps -aux when connected:

Code:

root    12645  0.0  0.1  3288  872 ttyS0    S    17:59  0:00 pppd lock modem crtscts asyncmap 0000
I have read all the help I can find but nothing references to problems disconnecting, only to connecting :(

Anybody have any ideas?
