Cannot delete files, Access is denied

Hello,
I am using a Toshiba Magnia SG30, it was installed (by default) with Red Hat and Samba server (that's what I knew from reading the manual) - Recently, I cannot delete files on the server - the client is XP SP2 - even the files created by the same user!

When the client is Windows 2000, I can delete the files without problem.

Would anyone with similar setup please help me on how to start with fixing this problem.

Thank you for your kindness
Truong Vu

Other details:
To get to the server, I open the Network neighborhood with \\myserver and login.
I can create new files but cannot delete them, can not delete files in public or personal

The server has been installed and since 12/2003, the only significant event was when (Nov 2,2005) the server not responsive (no internet connection), I shutdowned and restart the server, run the backup (from the Magnia SG30 Administration menu) but was not successfully backup)
Hope the details would help you to help me. Thank you

amitsharma,
I don't have access to the server in question now, but would you point out what to check for permissions (what directories, on the server?, on the XP client?)
Thank you for your help,
T Vu

Permissions of folders/directories of your linux box(server), which you are accessing through XP clients.
