Cannot connect kppp in Slackware9.1

hello
i have installed slackware 9.1 it it just RAWKS!!
one thing i failed to do: connect my isp using kppp, it says "the peer cannot authenticate to the server". i have run pppsetup and selected PAP. but i am being constantly disconnected. i need some help.

try downloading ppp from linux.tucows.com

well, i can connect as root, but cannot connect using my username

no, ppp-on don't work, it says error in script, but i CAN CONNECT USING KPPP if it is run as root.
