Cannot access shared folders over LAN/WiFi Ubuntu 11.04 Natty

I have a desktop with a hard wired cat 5 link to my router and a laptop connecting by wifi. If I try to access either machines shared folders from the other this happens:-

What am I doing wrong??

Thanks mcleod, I'm having errors trying to connect two ubuntu systems though.

The laptop (from which the screenie is taken) is running 11.04 and is fully up to date, The desktop has just been upgraded to 11.10 though the error is identical, I get the same error if I try and connect between my two ubuntu 11.10 desktops with hard wired lan connections also!!
