Question Cannot access other linux machines from mine!!!!!

Hello folks, I have installed Red Hat Linux 9 on my server machine. Have successfully completed installation of Samba, Php, Mysql, Apache and GD libraries. The windows machnes on LAN are able to access my Linux machine from the network with the appropriate username and password created for them. However am not able to access other linux machines from my linuxmachine browser e.g. //somelinuxmachine/shared-folder though on the Network Servers option can see the workgroupname and also all the other machines under that domain/workgroup name. I can also access (copy / paste) the data from there. Can somebody help me with some basic linux-to-linux connectivity and configuration steps?? All help will be appreciated.

However, I have also noticed that the though my machine is on the network and am still able to login through Windows and access the shared folder, after a certain period of time am no longer able to view the workgroupname in the Network Servers. I can only get it back after the machine is re-started. Has anybody come across such a weird issue?? How do i overcome it?? Please reply. Thanks alot.

Well, you could mount your share to your linux client. As root at the command line type

# mount.smb

All the info you need to mount a samba share is right there.

From a GUI explorer, type smb://server_name/share_name in the navigation bar

Those work for me.
