Can ping websites , but unable to browse them using browsers

Hi

I searched LQ for this and did find topics related to it, but going though them didnt give me any answers. so posting mine.

My setup

eth0 - > internal network , 192.168.0.XX
eth1-> ISP -> 61.247.251.XX

This is my iptables.sh file ,

Quote:
iptables --table nat --append POSTROUTING --out-interface eth1 -j MASQUERADE

iptables -A FORWARD -j LOG
iptables --append FORWARD --in-interface eth0 -j ACCEPT

echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
I am trying to enable internet sharing, this whole setup used to work great few days back, but suddenly , just doesnt work any more

When i ping a website from windows client it works, it looks up the ip and returns, but when i try browsing the website, firefox looks up the ip , it doesnt load the page, just says , "transfering ....."

Any ideas how to solve this?

Thanks

I often see something like that on systems where Firefox has ipv6 enabled but the provider doesn't work correctly with it. Enter about:config in the URL line, then use the filter expression ipv6 - that should result in only one line about disabling ipv6 which by default is set to 'false'. Set it to 'true' by double-clicking the line, restart Firefox and see whether that helps.
