My last position was within a heterogeneous environment. We erected a Windows AD server, which simplified our management of the Windows computers. In our analysis, we judged the Linux integration as a "nice to have" project, that I never got around to investing much time in. Once you perform the work, it's said to work quite well, but I left before accomplishing that task.
