i don't sed that I am using this SMTP server on a forum.. I think is not a problem that i give him just the IP and the user name and password i left blank no ?

Concerning setup of your own SMTP server with sendmail, that issue is really bugging me though...
what if your ISP blocks port 25?
So, you couldn't send any outgoing mails neither any others smtp servers couldn't connect to your smtp server.

What would be the best way to deal with it?
Get somewhere an outside box with account that allows smtp port then this box will forward all your e-mails through your own mail server??

I have put the command # chmod a+x /etc/rc.d/rc.sendmail but the smtp server is not warking yet? what can i do ? ? ?

I have done that to but still not working ... I have a slackware 10.2 and the smtp server still not working have an idea what can i do ?
