hi there,

i'm not really sure what your asking so i'll just go ahead ans guess.

you want to see client authenication on your squid proxy server, thats an easy enough thing to do, i guess the question is what kind of authenication do you want to use? there are plently of choices but i'll just offer the following

LDAP
PAM
NTLM

I have writtern a how-to guide for squid and pam on my website

hello sir thanks for ur reply,
sir can you please explain what the above mensioned method will serve to me???

In my first posted question i wanted to know that can i serve my internet connection to only valid users with the valid username and password.
It means if any user want to access internet through proxy server then he must first give his valid username and password.....

so sir does ur previous reply gives the solution for my question....if it means same then tahnks once again. I will try ur solution and then let you know.

Thanks

yep, thats it, i suggest you try using PAM, that way everytime someone opens a web browser they are asked for there username/password.
