Unhappy can i do this?

hello,

i'm new at linux and even more so with linux firewalling. so if i sound stupid you know why upfront 8-)

ok. my problem is:

1. i have an redhat 7.2 (RH-72) on my LAN as the emailserver. it dial-up to pickup mail from various 'external/Internet' pop accounts and delivers mail to local email accounts.

2. recently i acquired an ADSL service.

3. with this ADSL i set up an e-smith 5.6 emailserver (ES-56). this server is configured with two identical NICs, one going to the ADSL and connects to the world and the other NIC connects to the LAN. this is working fine.

4. i want to connect RH-72 to ES-56 thru the LAN to fetch mail so that RH72 will not need *connect directly* to the Internet to fetch mail as in the dial-up situation.

how do i configure RH-72's ports?settings?/confs? to do this?

what i've tried: i can configure a computer with windows os to connect thru ES56 to browse the Internet.

thanks.

if what i wrote is not clear:

i have :
1. a redhat 7.2 (RH-72) server - dials up to Internet - one NIC which currently connect to the LAN on 192.168.abc.def.

2. a e-smith 5.6 (ES-56) server - ADSL to Internet - two NICs : NIC-A connects to ADSL modem to Internet. NIC-B has IP of 192.168.abc.ghi connects to the hub/switch to the LAN. E-smith can be installed with two NICs.

i have set up a windows machine (WIN2K)with gateway 192.168.abc.ghi (the IP assigned to NIC-B). WIN2K also have my ISP's DNS. this is configured on the TCP/IP properties on my WIN2K's NIC. WIN2K connects to ES-56 thru the same hub/switch.

from WIN2K i can surf thru SQUID proxy running on ES-56. i can pickup POP3 mail from the Internet.

* what i want is to connect RH-72 thru the hub/switch to ES-56 thru NIC-B to pick up email/surf *

i don't know how to configure eth0 on RH-72 to do this.

i have webmin installed.

i am looking into IPCop and SmoothWall but these two software are completely new to me.

right now i need to get RH-72 hooked up and online and services working...help...
