Can I create a local DNS?


I am behind a router with a redhat linux box and a few other windows boxes.

My redhat box is running a DNS server and I would like to set up a
localdns ( to point at

Is this possible? So that I can hit my server from my windows box in
internet explorer by going to

yes,of course .
the dns server in RH server can work well by default,you also can
configure it and creat a domian

You have to add a 'Zone' section for you domain '' in /etc/named.conf file. And create a zone data file for this zone.
