Can I create a local DNS?

Hi,

I am behind a router with a redhat linux box and a few other windows boxes.

My redhat box is running a DNS server and I would like to set up a
localdns (whatever.com to point at 192.168.0.3)

Is this possible? So that I can hit my server from my windows box in
internet explorer by going to whatever.com?

Thanks,

billy

the dns server in RH server can work well by default, you also can
configure it and creat a domian

You have to add a 'Zone' section for you domain 'Whatever.com' in /etc/named.conf file. And create a zone data file for this zone.
