Can't connect to internet with SUSE 9.1
I'm totally new to Linux, used it for the first time yesterday. I installed SUSE 9.1 seemingly without a hitch, and everything worked great for about 20 minutes. Then I lose my internet browsing, without having changed anything. There one minute, gone the next. I was using Konquerer, and now all I get is the message "Error occured while loading <site name>" and "Unknown host <site name>".
On restarting, I get a couple of "Failed" messages as follows:
Waiting for mandatory services eth-id-<MAC address> no interface found,
Setting up service network...... failed"
I also get the message: "Failed services in run level 5.... network"
It looks like the YaST network card dialogue box recognizes my ethernet card, and says "Digital DECchip 21041 [Tulip Pass 3], configured with DHCP". My internet connection is with a cable modem, through Comcast, not going through a router. My Windows 98 partition can still connect to the net, so I know everything is in working order. It seems something must be misconfigured, but I don't know what.
Any and all help is much appreciated!
