Can't resolve hostnames....need help

So I recently moved to a new apartment and took my mandrake 9.x server with me. However, after setting up my small home network I discovered my server was no longer resolving hostnames correctly.
EX. host returns a timeout error.
I can still directly access IP address and ping computers outside of my network. I've double checked my Nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf and they are correct. Anyone have a suggestion as to what might be the culprit? Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Being that you changed your address, you may want to double check that the DNS ip addresses haven't changed. Try pinging them.

I'll go ahead and admit that I am an idiot. I released and renewed my DHCP client and everything magically started working again. Not entirely sure why but I'll take what I can get. Thanks for the help.
