Can't print to Win XP Home printer from Mandrake 9.2
I have a three computer home network with Win 98, Win XP Home (with a Samsung printer attached to it) and my main computer which is dual booting Win XP Home and Mandrake 9.2.
When all computers are in Windows, I have no problem printing from any computer. However when my main computer is booted into Mandrake 9.2, I cannot print to the Win XP Home printer. When my Mandrake GUI tool scans for printers, it finds and configures the Samsung printer. The printer shows up in my linux application software print dialogs. When I choose to print, the file is apparently sent to the printer but nothing prints. The printer on the Win XP Home computer does not show that it has received the print job.
I am using Samba 2.2 and Cups. I don't know if this is a Samba problem or a Cups problem. Nor do I know how to go about fixing it regrdless of whether it is a Samba or Cups issue.
Any help in solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Start your gui printer configuration tool
and edit your printer properties
select queue
edit queue type
and select windows smb
enter the information of your network
