Can't PING to outside Network
Hi,
This is Dibakar
I have done Red Hat 3.0 ES on a IBM X-series 236 server just few days back, 2 NIC card(Broadcom) was there, I installed & configured both NIC and gave Static IP but after sucessfully confuration I am not able to ping others nodes in the same network (same switch), only self ping is going on.
Pls. give me advice to ged rid of these problem.

A couple of things you might want to double check.
1) That your NIC is active (up)
2) That you have the configured the right NIC for that IP.
3) That you have activity on the NIC (look at the flashing lights)
4) That the IP and Subnet Mask are both correct.
Check those first.

Well let me understand....
what is the ips of your eth0 and eth1? are they in the same block?? Like
eth0 = 192.168.0.1/24
eth1=192.168.0.2/24
if this is so, then you should check your firewall configurations for both NICs.
Remember, to get a echo reply from any node, all nodes should be in the same subnet. Also check the gateway. And if you ping another ip rather than your block, the gateway must be configured for forwarding the packets.
