can't login my domain server

i have linux RH8.0 with a PDC controlled by Samba the domain name is DOMAIN when i try to connect to the domain server with my Windows XP and i type my username that i use to normaly login on my linux server

i can't connect is says acces denied

Make sure that you have added your samba users with smbadduser and that you are using the root user to join the domain.

then it says you are not allowd to login from this station?
