Can't get wireless working in Slitaz (Asus Aspire ZG5, Atheros wifi)

So I decided to wipe out Windows and try Slitaz. It's an awesome well featured distro for it's size. One huge problem tho: I can't get wireless to work for the life of me. I actually went as far as to manually load the ath5k module but It just refuses to recognize my wireless router, much less any nearby routers. It simply doesn't see anything when it scans for wireless networks. I have no problem with that in Puppy Lucid. But I'd really like to use Slitaz, just for it's small size and quick bootup. Can anyone PLEASE help me with that?

PS: It happened here before that I had to plea and beg for any response, so PLEASE(!!) don't let me hang like that this time. I will not troll for your mercy!!! Thanks.

You might need some additional firmware. Are you sure you want ath5k and not ath9k? Does your distribution of some kind of "compat-wireless" package?

Don't know how much help I'll be for you. Am posting from My Acer aspire One. But I don't run Slitaz.

Looks like you are on the right track installing ath5k driver though.
Does Slitaz also come with Wireless tools

Also can you get Wicd or Ceni connection tools for Slitaz as a taz.pkg.

If wondering about how I got my top readout. You can install inxi script in Slitaz as root user in terminal with this command.
Code:

cd /usr/local/bin && wget -Nc smxi.org/inxi && chmod +x inxi
I have inxi succesfully running in Ubuntu and Puppy Installs. smxi comes stock in my AntiX installs, but smxi is a debian thing. Won't work in Ubuntu or Puppy. But inxi will.

At least inxi will let you know if you got ath5k installed correctly like in my readout. I usually install AntiX 8.5 on my Netbooks.

Full install on My Asus EEEpc 900

And I settled for Ubuntu Netbook (boot into Gnome instead of Netbook Desktop via sessions in GDM login Window) for my Acer Aspire One (run Puppeee 4.4 Beta on SD card also)

Maybe all you need to do is get something like Wireless Tools going and dhclient to connect. Wicd or Ceni is good front end for wireless tools.
Like I said. Aint much help with Slitaz or Wireless even. So if I am off base. Oh Well. Took a while to type all this out.

Happy Trails ,Rok

If you wish to enable wireless at boot time, add to /etc/rcS.conf:
