Can't get the wired connection to work in Ubuntu
I just installed Ubuntu, tried the built in wireless on the computer, nothing. I have no device manager to see what the Mac address is, and the network manager doesn't show a single network. I decided to bite the bullet and run a wire through the wall. I plugged it in and the yellow lights on the Ethernet port both turned on and one started blinking (guessing that's the activity light), but nothing happens. I don't get any internet connection, pinging ubuntu.com returns "The address ubuntu.com doesn't exist." and pinging 91.189.94.249 comes up with 0% data. What can I do to get my computer on line? Thanks for your help.
