Can't find web site with a local IP address.
I’m running Centos 5.3 and I set up a web site on the local server with a 192.168.1.71 address.
I followed (copied) the web entries in the following directories and files for a web site which already is working and I can bring it up locally at 192.168.1.90, this is also the IP of the server which these web sites are running on.
I’ve made the needed entries in the following places…copies of the working web site except for names and IP’s:
I’ve also made entries for pointers in”
/var/named/chroot/var/named/masters/216.192.15.3.rev
Like I said above I just found out where the file (entries) were for the web site which works and copied in new entries in those locations.
I can’t for the life of me think why I can’t even ping the .71 address.
All my web sites on my W3K server are working with any problems it’s just this new one on the main server which I can’t see to get to work as this isn’t a Front Page site so I didn’t want to put it on the W3K machine.
As far as the directories locations go, the person who helped me set this server up and install Centos has far more experience with Linux then I do so where things go were his call. Hope it’s correct.
I’m a newbie at that his and any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
It's non of the above.
It turned out to be an Apache httpd.conf issue with the 'Named Virtual Hosts' entry which I didn't understand.
A Linux person from my old job got on the the system and helped me repair things.
The DNS was O.K. The domain in questions has not yet been pointed to my server so the person doing the development of the web site just needs to test with something which looks like 'http://www.mysite.com.
It works locally because of the way this person set to the entries in httpd.conf.
When everything is ready to I just have to change a few things and I'm ready to go.
