Can't find network card

I'm trying to intall Linux on a new machine, but it can't find my network card. All I know is that I have a "1394 network adapter".

Can you post the output of lspci? It'll give some clues. Do you have a firewire (aka 1394) card?

Cheers,

The (hopefully) important part of the lspci output was:

Ethernet Controller: NVidia unknown device 00d6 (rev a5)

Firewire (IEEE1394) Texas Instruments TSB43AB22/A IEEE-1394A-2000 controller (Phy/link)

Also, I found a Texas Instrument in the Firewire options as a module, but I couldn't compile it into the kernel. I'm using kernel 2.4.22.

Ok, these are two things. The actual network card is that NVidia thing and AFAIK there is no free-as-in-speech driver around - but apparently NVidia provides a Linux driver.

The firewire card (which won't help you with your network but you can hook up your digital camcorder) needs a module ohci1394 - that's in the firewire section.

For the network driver, google around a bit, and you'll find the Nvidia-supplied thing. Maybe others know more about that card.

I presume that's ethernet integrated on the MoBo - which motherboard is it?
