Can't connect to SSH server on a VirtualBox VM (bridge mode)
I'm trying to connect to the SSH server of one of my machines, but I haven't had success. The network adapter is configured as bridged and the router is forwarding the port to the IP, however both internal and external connection attempts fail.
Have you tried to get more information by using ssh's -v (verbose) option and/or looking in /var/log/auth.log (or whichever other log sshd writes to on your distro)?
Is the private key accessible to the user only? Normally the .ssh directory is rwx------ and the key rw-------
