Can't connect to Linux box from one windows machine

I have started up vncserver on my Red Hat 3.1 Enterprise server twice (in effect <linuxmachine>:1 and <linuxmachine>:2 sessions are started.

From one of my Windows machines (a desktop), I can access both sessions using Ultra-VNC viewer (most current version). However, from a notebook on the same network, I cannot connect to either of the sessions. I am using the same Ultra-VNC install there as on the desktop. It just comes back with a "failed to connect to server !" message.

Both Windows machines are running XP Pro and have patched to the same level (recently updated from Microsquish).

I have STF to find a similar thread but could not find one (maybe I am not using the right search criteria).

Anyone out there help me?

From your laptop, can you ping your Red Hat box, or any of your other Windows XP machines in your LAN? Your laptop may have some firewall that needs to be disabled. Try those and let us know what happens.
