Can't Connect to internet with Redhat 9.0

Everything installed fine for me. But it just so happens that for some reason it wont connect to the Internet. I tried auto configuring it. I tried manually configuring it and I had no luck since I have just a small understanding of what I am doing (i go to school for CIS ). I tried removing the eth0 and installing again. but i can't get connected to the internet. linux has the correct driver, i even went to the linksys site and they said it should work. i keep getting errors. one of the errors is

" eth0 has an alias to module pcnet_cs in modules.conf instead of currently loaded module rt18150 based usb-ethernet driver0.4.3 /2002/12/31)! "

Does this mean anything to anyone? i tired to remove and reinstall the set up and restart but no luck. i even tried to name it eth1. no luck. somebody tell me something with luck pleeeaasse. thank you

when i type ifconfig it says the following:

link encap:Local Loopback
inet addr:127.0.01 mask 255.0.0.0
UP Loopback running MTU:16436 Metric 1

it says morebut i figure you know the format. al the packet and errors dropped and stuff say 0 and when i run 'neat' that is just the network configuration tool and it tells me i have an error

"rl8150 device eth1 does not seem to be present delaying initialzation"

but dont forget whet i wrote above. i changed it from eth0 to eth1 because of the above error.
