Unhappy Can't connect RH9 dhcp client eth0

So far haven't been able to get the dhcp client working on my RH 9 workstation. I have a USB Netgear ea101 dongle, I have no problem when using WinME or Win 2k in connecting to the Linksys router to 192.168.1 subnet. Also setting RH to fixed IP 192.168.1.5, I can ping the the router. It looks like route table is not being set up for eth0 device, I only see entries for lo localhost.

Doesn't the route table have to be set for 192.168.1 for dhclient to run properly? What is the settings for ifcfg-eth0 and dhclient.conf files for dhcp client?
