Can't access my locally hosted demo website from few (not all) another computers on the same network

Hi

I have created a demo website in Web2py. I have hosted it on my PC using Rocket server (built in web2py). I can access the website from few systems in same network. But there are systems from which my website is inaccessible. Ping and IPMessenger are working fine from those computers, but just my website.

As I can access from few other systems that means there is no problem with website hosting. That means there is something wrong with the other systems. But I can't it figure out. Website is hosted in Windows 7 platform.

Thanks for help in advance

Regards
Puneet

Do you use an IP address to access this local resource?

Can I assume you are trying a local IP address or are you using a ddns name or what?

Some local ip's could have different security settings than wan subnet.

Hi Jefro

Thanks for reply. Yes I use IP of my machine (not the domain name.) to access from another system. I am able to access from other systems but not from all. Yesterday I tried to find out the problem using wireshark. From the system from which I wasn't able to access I didn't get any HTTP packet. Then I tried from another system from which I was able to access my website. From that system I got HTTP packet as expected. So, I think there is some issue with the remote system only not the hosting system. Also, please explain "Some local ip's could have different security settings than wan subnet", I didn't understand this statement. If possible, please provide an example.

Thanks
Regards
Puneet

I can't say what it could be. Anything from ports or firewalls issue to wrong subnetting.

If you posted more info we might have a better guess.

Hi
My IP is 10.12.19.72 where website is hosted. IP of other system is 10.12.19.144 from which I can't access the website. Gateway for both systems is 10.12.19.1. Please tell me if you need any more information. Ping is working fine.

Welcome to LQ. Good puzzle Great on the wireshark tracing!
(I'm semi-familiar with tcpdump but not wireshark)

If .144 is linux, try: strace -f -o myfile wget <the URL>
Might it be some firewall (or SELinux)? distro? nmap thatWin.72
Collect a matrix of net config info on working vs. non-working accessors ('clients')

Keep digging up clues: we'll 'find' that 'lost' packet

Hi

Thanks for reply.
All the systems are running Windows 7. The computer which can't access the website is running Windows 10. (But another computer with Windows 7 also can't access). I ran both the commands "net config Server" and "net config Workstation". But output was similar. Workstation domain is same for all systems. Just the name of the systems were different.
