What exactly do you mean by a call generator? I'm not really sure about it, but I found the OpenH323 project while searching around for more info. Are you looking for an audio conferencing application? In that case, you may be more interested in something like Skype.
Thanks for replying my problem.Actually i m trying to look for a call generator that can be used to generate call or voice traffic on linux machine compatible witk ipv 4 and ipv6.So i would kindly request you to help me out if possible.I really appreciate your work.Actually i even saw open h323 but i donno weather i can use it on ipv6 ie send call packets on ipv6 ..so please kindly help me out..thanking for spending your valuable time in reading my mail
You might want to take a look at Asterisk (http://www.asterisk.org/). It's a complete Open Source PBX that will run on Linux. I think it can use IPV6 for transport and supports most of the common call protocols.
A BIG plus is that one of the protocols (IAX) is all UDP over a single port - no firewall/masquerade issues!
Thanks for replying for my mail and spending your valuable time in reading my mail.I really appreciate your effort but can u just tell me if there are any other such sources available other than asterisx and in asterisx which one shall i use .i mean it has released many versions so which one is good.any way thanks for replying and will be waiting for your reply..
I havn't used the Asterisk software myself, but they have just released version 1.2.1. Always go for the latest, stable release. That's what the devepolers are working on so questions have a better chance of a prompt reply on the mailing lists and forums. The only reason I havn't installed it: no Skype.
If you just want a quick solution - one machine to another - maybe Skype (binary only!) might do the trick. It needs a GUI and you may have to "sign up" to get it working, but it is known to work.
