I've had immense trouble building these drivers, running debian squeeze with 2.6.32-5-686, originally I had errors because make could not find certain kernel files which I eventually solved (hopefully). Thousands of error messages later I am left this error message which has been with me since the very first "make":
Code:
WARNING: CONFIG_CFG80211_WEXT will be deactivated or not working because kernel was compiled with CONFIG_WIRELESS_EXT=n. Tools using wext interface like iwconfig will not work. To activate it build your kernel e.g. with CONFIG_LIBIPW=m."
This is just a WARNING and make continues to build before it encounters:
Code:
WARNING: "cfg802_wext_handler" [home/user/Desktop/cw/net/wireless/cfg80211.ko] undefined!
Which I'm certain is to do with deactivation of CONFIG_CFG80211_WEXT, however I've never built anything from source before, nor have I ever consciously built my kernel with CONFIG_LIBIPW=m.
Thanks in advance.
