BTHomeHub 5 ports & One page website

I have for some years a one page website that I built and host myself working from a laptop as server using Nginx. I have now got the supper fast broadband and using a BTHomeHub 5 which is very different to what I had and one thing is ports closed but after a lot of trial an error I have got the port thing sorted and can see Welcome to Nginx in local-host. As I have said BTHH 5 is different to other versions and so is the version of Nginx I am now using. With the last version I could use this ( gksudo gedit /var/www/nginx-default/index.html )to place details of my site on the page where Welcome to Nginx was. After installing the new Nginx version the path is now ( usr/share/nginx/www/index.html ) this can get the site to show on local host but not on the web. I do not know why this is, the only thing I have done nothing with is sites/enabled etc.. Please what do I do now as I have port 80 open.

Check that your HH is forwarding traffic received on port 80 to the LAN IP of your laptop.
[Login to your HH, Settings - Advanced settings - Firewall]

Check that you have your WAN IP address correct.
[Login to your HH, Settings - Advanced settings - Broadband. Your WAN IP is under "Broadband network IP address: "]

I have a HH5, and it forwards ports when told to.

Do you have a firewall running on your laptop?

I have solved the problem as I did not have the correct text in nginx.conf.

It was 2009 when I first put my site on the internet and the paths I used have all changed when I re- installed Nginx recently ( gksudo gedit /var/www/nginx-default/index.html changed to gksudo gedit /usr/share/nginx/www/index.html ) so did the paths to sites enabled and nginx.config in a simular way. As I am far from expert I did a lot of trail and error. Seeing the site on localhost
was a long way from viewing it on the web but others may be better at doing these thing than I.
Sorry I can not be more explicit.
