BT Voyager, so nearly there but cant find Modem

Hey all,

I'm having a bit of trouble configuring my broadband internet access, and I'm wondering if y'all can help me. To start off with I'm using a BT Voyager USB modem and Mandrake 10

OK, I've been through the tutorial at eciadsl.flashtux.org and when I do the final step (type in the connection code: # /usr/local/bin/startmodem | tee log.txt) I get the following error message:

setting up USB support (1/5)..

loading firmware (2/5)..

modem not found

Now I have installed the RPM sucsessfully and the sync file. I think it may be a problem with the dabsub line in the /etc/hotplug/blacklist file but I did put it in so I am unsure why it wont work. Also, the tutorial says that when I connect the modem there should be no lights on it, but when I plug it in one light goes on. Any suggestions? I've been hammering away at this for a wee while now and its the only thing that I've left to sort out before I can make the jump from windows

Is there anyone who has set up their voyager without a problem? there seem to be a few threads about it, but I haven't read any that have ended in success

The annoying thing is, my dial up connection was a breeze to sort out when I had it!

thanks in advance for anyone who takes the time to reply.

You could replace it with a modem with an ethernet connection
