Unhappy browsing windows network with konqueror

I've been resisting posting on here for a wekk or so because i thought i could figure the problem out by reading the forums here but i turned up nothing. But here goes.

I am using Redhat 8.0 in a corporate LAN. The lan is w2k active directory domain corp wide. I want Redhat to be a client only on this network and not share any directories or printers for now however I want to have access to all of my windows shares. The problem i am having is i want to be able to browse network resources with Konqueror. I can see all of the windows servers and clients when I type in SMB:// in konqueror and i can authenticate to the 2 servers i have access to using my active directory username/password. But when I try to view any shares on the servers it says I do not have sufficient privilege to view the resource. I know for certain that i have access to these shares because i can connect to them from my windows box using the same username. This worked perfectly with redhat 7.1. Iím getting so frustrated I may uninstall 8 and go back to 7.1.

I have been able to join my linux box to the domain. I set up my self in samba as a user. I can connect to the network shares using smbmount at the command line. This is fine but not very convenient at all because I need access to several shares at once and it's pretty cumbersome to use smbmount for every share i need access to. All network connectivity works fine other than this browsing issue.

I'm sorry this is to long but i wanted to try and give as much info as possible. Iíll post my smb.conf later today when I get to work and back on my linux box.
